About the Opportunity
Michigan Medicine, a leader in academic healthcare, invites visionary physicians to apply for the Section Chief of General and Preventive Cardiology & Hypertension in our Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. This dynamic role has a significant impact on patient care, faculty development, and scholarly achievement, and is accompanied by a faculty appointment (Clinical- or Tenure-Track) at Associate Professor or Professor rank.

Key Responsibilities
As Section Chief, you will be responsible for –
Strategic Vision: Develop, articulate, and execute the clinical, academic, and educational vision for General and Preventive Cardiology & Hypertension, aligned with the divisional and institutional goals.
Clinical Leadership: Manage faculty schedules and clinical operations, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
Advancing Scholarship: Promote a productive and collaborative research environment, supporting faculty achievement and interdisciplinary initiatives.
Fostering Education: Cultivate a thriving learning culture for trainees and faculty, enhancing mentorship, teaching, and professional growth.
Faculty Development: Oversee evaluations, recruitment, and development.
Collaborating for Impact: Partner with leadership across the Division and Institution to advance clinical innovation, research, and educational excellence.

Candidate Qualifications
We seek leaders with:
- M.D. or D.O. with board certification in Cardiovascular Medicine. Additional qualifications and certifications in lipidology, cardiac imaging, etc. are welcome.
- Eligibility for Michigan medical licensure.
- Distinguished record of clinical and teaching achievement and scholarly productivity.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in mentorship, education, and faculty development.
- Commitment to fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Academic rank and track will be determined by qualifications and experience.
