Medical Director – Advanced Heart Failure
Location: University Health, San Antonio, TX
Position Type: Full-time, Employed (W2)
University Health seeks an accomplished Medical Director of Advanced Heart Failure to lead the growth and excellence of our expanding heart failure program. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of advanced cardiovascular care in South Texas.
Role Highlights:
- Provide clinical and strategic leadership for a comprehensive advanced heart failure program.
- Oversee outpatient and inpatient services, advanced therapies (LVAD, ECMO), and the development of future transplant capabilities.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams focused on improving outcomes and reducing readmissions.
- Partner with system leaders to expand regional referral networks and establish University Health as a center of excellence.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO with Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology.
- Minimum 5 years of advanced HF experience, including LVAD or transplant care.
- Proven leadership in program development, quality improvement, and team building.
