Description
Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgeon Opportunity at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi
Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) is inviting applications for a Congenital Heart Surgeon to support the collaboration with Cincinnati Children’s to bring world-class pediatric care to Abu Dhabi and beyond. The selected individual will join the Division of Cardiac Surgery at SKMC, which is comprised of a team dedicated to providing the most progressive surgical care for children with cardiothoracic pathology and is the only unit designated a Center of Excellence in the United Arab Emirates. The position will include an affiliation with Cincinnati Children’s Division of Congenital Heart Surgery and the Heart Institute. Cincinnati Children’s Division of Pediatric Cardiology has a strong collaboration with the SKMC cardiology division, as well as a myriad of other divisions. SKMC is part of Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), the leading healthcare provider in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and a subsidiary of PureHealth, the largest integrated healthcare network in the Middle East.
SKMC is collaborating with Cincinnati Children’s to establish a world-class pediatric center of excellence, ensuring that more children receive the highest standard of care, no matter where they live. This transformative collaboration spans all aspects of pediatric care, research, and education, uniting the expertise of Cincinnati Children’s with the vision of SKMC to set new benchmarks in child health in the region.
The selected candidate will join an outstanding team of surgeons and will support the development, growth, and collaboration of the Congenital Heart Surgery program at SKMC in partnership with the Heart Institute at Cincinnati Children’s. Together, the partners seek to strengthen an already existing and successful heart program at SKMC through shared conferences, resources, and quality improvement (QI) initiatives. By pooling expertise and resources, the partners aim to elevate the standard of care to a broader range of patients, potentially reaching those who may not have had access to certain specialized Congenital Heart services and allowing more children in that region of the world to get outstanding care closer to their home. The collaboration reflects a strategic effort to enhance care delivery, optimize infrastructure, and most importantly, benefit patients within the communities served.
