Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Grapevine as a Registered Nurse and be part of something better! *Cardiovascular Unit* Our Cardiovascular Unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. Are you looking to increase your knowledge base? Our Cardiovascular Unit leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. *Cardiovascular Unit* *Patient Population: *Cardiac, Stroke, Sepsis *Patient Ratios: *1:4 or 1:3 based on acuity *Number of Beds: *16 beds *Department Specifics: *85% BSN, 48% PCCN, Cross-trained to ICU, Great Physician/Nursing collaboration, Daily huddles to focus on unit metrics and ideas for process improvement. *Shift:* Full time days; 7am-7pm *Experience required:* 1 year of recent PCU experience *Seasonal Commitment Information* * Full-time Seasonal weekly requirements are three 12-hour shifts for the 13-week contract (excludes 1st week of orientation) * $1,500 completion bonus for meeting minimum productive time * $51 Seasonal rate. * Eligible for shift differentials. $3.50 for evenings, $5 for nights, and $6 for weekends. These are stackable (as applicable by time/day) so if you worked a weekend night, you would be paid $51 + $5 + $6. * Weekend requirements are the same as regular FT- Rotating weekends * The first week is Monday- Friday orientation. * Although this is a short term (13 week) assignment, you would be a Baylor employee (not contractual, agency, etc.). The hope is that once the assignment is concluded, you will convert to a regular FT, PT, or PRN role. Job Summary As a Seasonal RN, you align with our nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, implement care plans. Monitor patient progress is also vital. Your knowledge will help patients navigate the healthcare system safely, reducing complications. You will use your expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment. Essential Functions of the Role * Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards. * Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly. Make adjustments as needed. * Creating safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff. * Managing emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering. Key Success Factors * Comprehensive knowledge of standards and procedures in nursing and patient care. * Effective communication skills to articulate thoughts clearly and interact with diverse groups of people. * Proficient problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills to provide quality patient care. * Flexibility and excellent communication for sharing changes in patient health conditions promptly and efficiently.
